We spent a lot of time trying to figure out which of our products are the best, to help readers learn about end use. Frankly, it was tough to label anything as the “best” because we don’t play favorites here at Massif— we can’t. We find it imperative to take all our gear as seriously as the kit around it because each of these garments could make all the difference in the safety of a hero in the field.
The following list of products includes legacy pieces, proven to be effective in the field, as well as some relatively new pieces—all of which have a compelling, technological story to back up our claims. You will notice some of these products are flame-resistant and some are not. Massif is, at its core, an FR clothing company. We understand not every soldier has a mission that requires FR, so we have come prepared with garments to support those missions as well.
We have highlighted a wide variety of different layers in this article because we believe every layer has a purpose and every system has its own, unique advantage. Using a cohesive and purpose-built layering system is the most effective way to remain comfortable while working in extreme circumstances and weather patterns.
Each layer’s ability to work alongside one another, and be interchanged or worn alone, can deliver the end user a wide array of comfortability. Every end-user has their own set of variables, like non-ideal weather conditions, personal preference, or unforeseen mission requirements, which allows them to best decide which combination of layers is the perfect match for their purpose.
