Brand & Heritage
Massif was founded in 1999 by two visionaries, including Jenny Lake Search and Rescue crew member Randy Benham. Our mission was to design flame-resistant apparel that performed like thebest outdoor gear — with stretch, breathability, weather protection, and comfort — while meeting the highest safety standards.
A massif is a compact group of connected mountains, symbolizing strength, endurance, and a solid foundation. The name reflects our origins in the mountains and our commitment to building products that perform in the most rugged environments.
We invented proprietary FR fabrics in partnership with our textile mill, Antex, combining flame resistance with high-performance features like stretch, moisture management, and weather protection — all without sacrificing comfort.
Massif Gear
Each garment is designed in Southern Oregon and tested in real-world conditions by our in-house team and active-duty military, LE, and SAR personnel. This ensures every piece meets the needs of the end user before it goes into production. Click Here to apply to test future products!
