The Massif® HotJohns® Crew is a versatile baselayer piece. It can be worn next to skin or over a Massif® Cool Knit® layer. The design is streamlined for easy layering and is highly breathable, wicking moisture away from the skin, keeping you warm and dry even when you're working up a sweat. Extra length in the back keeps the torso tucked in without excess bunching.

Constructed with DuPont™ Nomex® brand fiber, the first flame-resistant fiber selected for use in military uniforms. DuPont™ Nomex® fibers carbonize and thicken when exposed to the intense heat of a flash fire, creating a protective barrier that reduces or prevents burn injuries. HotJohns garments will be a favorite in your layering system.
  • Full flame-resistant construction with proprietary Massif® fabric
  • 4-way stretch
  • Excellent moisture management

I have worn both the Hotjohns and Flamestretch garments through some cold, wet weather in Afghanistan and have also worn them in the U.S. during snowy, frigid conditions. I often utilize the HotJohns top underneath my uniform and PPE when I am going to be patrolling and add the Flamestretch top when I am in a stationary position following patrol. I find that this combination during these different levels of activity keeps me sufficiently warm during combat operations. As a combat veteran of both Iraq and Afghanistan and a recreational outdoorsman, I would recommend Massif products to any of my coworkers or friends.

"Thanks for the gear. I'm just back from our extended trip on the north slope of AK for snowmelt. The HotJohns were the perfect layer over a large range of temperatures and kept me warm under the drysuits we wore, too."
