Breathability/Moisture Management

Adequate breathability and moisture management greatly aid consistent thermoregulation at varying temperatures, activity levels, and in different environmental conditions.

• Massif fabrics are engineered to keep your body temperature stable in the field through improved moisture management, breathability and controlled evaporative cooling.
• Massif wicking technology facilitates the movement of water vapor and liquid water (sweat) from the surface of the skin through the fabric and into the atmosphere.
• The knit construction of Massif fabrics creates a natural cooling mechanism as air flows readily through our lightweight, hot weather fabrics.

Softshell Weather Protection

The advent of softshell technology has revolutionized the possibilities for comfortable cold and wet weather protection. Softshells protect from rain, snow and wind in all but the wettest weather, but unlike a traditional hardshell parka, are soft, quiet, formfitting, stretchy, abrasion-resistant, and warm.

• Elements and Elements Lite are the only flame-resistant softshell fabrics on the market.
• Massif softshell fabrics feature a membrane that protects from wind, and rain, but also allows body moisture to escape during periods of activity, keeping you warm and dry instead of cold and clammy.
• A windproof membrane effectively blocks out wind chill.
• The exterior is tough, abrasion resistant, and durable.

Four-Way-Stretch

Clothes that provide stretch are essential in situations that call for agility and unrestricted movement. At Massif, all of our fabrics are engineered to stretch just the right amount for comfort and mobility. By incorporating stretch into our fabrics, we can design clothes with a streamlined and athletic fit that is ideal for layering.

• All Massif garments feature 4-way stretch, greatly enhancing comfort, range of motion, maneuverability, and compatibility with body armor and other layers.
• Four-way stretch allows for formfitting designs that minimize snagging and reduce bulk.
• When designing layering systems, we take full advantage of stretch fabrics to guarantee a seamless performance from your base layer to outermost layer.

Durability

Massif fabrics and garments are extensively tested in the lab and in the field to ensure they stand up to the punishment our customers dish out. Massif garments feature:

• Minimal pill fabrics
• Low profile zippers, pockets and other design features to reduce snagging
• Reinforced seams in high-tension areas such as pen pockets and cargo pockets
• Abrasion-resistant fabric exteriors
• Ergonomic designs with four-way stretch to reduce seam tension during high activity and prolonged crouching or squatting.
